Honors Roll in for New BMW X3
Recognized for performance, design and safety.

The new BMW X3 Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) continues to impress by earning global accolades from across the automotive industry.
The X3 is the highest ranked vehicle in the “Entry Premium Crossover/SUV” category of the 2011 Automotive Performance and Layout (APEAL) Study conducted by J.D. Power and Associates. APEAL is a customer survey that measures satisfaction levels among new car buyers in North America. The X3 scored “among the best” in all five areas: Overall performance and design, performance, comfort, features and instrument panel and style. The X3 also received an ALG Residual Value Award for Luxury Compact Utility.
The new design of the X3 has people talking, and this was illustrated by the fact that it was awarded a red dot award for design quality. In addition, U.S. News and World Report ranked the X3 as a top-five luxury compact SUV.
Displaying a high degree of popularity across the pond, the X3 was selected as the “Four-Wheel Drive Car of the Year 2011” in a reader survey conducted by European car magazine Auto Bild Allrad. Readers were asked to name their favorite models from those available on the German car market. The X3 ranked first in the “Off-Road Vehicles and SUVs Ranging from 25,000 to 40,000 Euros” category. Readers of Off Road magazine also recently voted the X3 “Off-road Vehicle of the Year 2011.”
In addition to its four-wheel drive and off-road capabilities, the X3 has also been recognized for its safety features. The X3 recently received a five-star crash-test rating from the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP).
A combination of sportiness and efficiency, along with a captivating design, makes the X3 a versatile choice, whether you’re running errands around town or taking in the back roads. The X3 handles just about any kind of terrain with ease—and it looks great doing it. The vehicle features innovative technologies such as an eight-speed automatic transmission, Brake Energy Regeneration and electric power steering.
While the accolades and awards pile up for this new and exciting vehicle, the real trophy belongs to those who have an X3 parked in their driveway. In the new X3, BMW innovation once again comes through with an extraordinary blend of performance, design and safety.
