The Ultimate Fuel
In today’s market, people are often looking for a way to cut costs. Many times, the easy choice is fuel for your vehicle. Sometimes people believe that “gas is gas”. Unfortunately, this is not always the case, and sometimes refueling at a cheaper station can often cost you more in the long run. In the past, we have discussed “top-tier fuels” these are fuels that are required to meet stricter guidelines during the refining process, and station requirements. Please check out www.toptiergas.com for recommended fueling stations and more about top tier fuels.

While saving money at the pump may sound rewarding, it can sometimes be just the opposite. Many of the cheaper fuels do not utilize the proper detergents to help keep your engine running clean and efficient. When poor quality fuel is burned in your engine, it leaves behind deposits that can often lead to drivability concerns, and in some cases; fuel system damage.

We have pictured here an actual fuel sample removed from a customer’s vehicle. This fuel is a sample taken from the fuel supply to the engine. When compared with the clean sample, the pictures speak for themselves. Many times, the gradual depreciation in fuel mileage or performance may be difficult to detect. However, once these issues have been resolved, the vehicle now performs as it was designed; giving the customer back the joy or driving their BMW.

BMW recommends replacement of the vehicle’s fuel filter at service intervals of 105,000 miles. It has been our experience with today’s fuel quality concerns; the filter has most definitely seen its service life. Since a restricted fuel filter can be a lead cause in vehicle performance, we suggest having this filter replaced once your vehicle surpasses the 105,000 mile service interval.
