The mere mention of BMW conjures thoughts of comfort, luxury, desire and sophistication. Hearing the name Thomas Keller sends the taste buds tingling and the mind reeling at the thought of exquisitely crafted meals bordering on artwork paired with the very best in succulent wines. With such a desire and commitment to elevating the human experience, it was inevitable that these two masterminds would find their way to one another.
Chef Thomas Keller - predominantly self-taught and successful owner of trend-setting restaurants in New York City, Las Vegas, Beverly Hills and Napa Valley and winner of numerous awards including “Chef of the Year” and two-time winner of the James Beard Award - has collaborated with BMW to provide the ultimate in luxury for his guests. The world’s fastest hybrid, the BMW ActiveHybrid 7 Series will provide concierge service through Napa’s rolling vineyards and olive groves to his restaurant, The French Laundry, listed as one of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants.
To celebrate the occasion, Chef Keller concocted a seasonal recipe inspired by BMW that was featured on the French Laundry’s menu; the dish consisted of pork loin with bratwurst, apple dumplings, braised red cabbage and grain mustard sauce. Inspired by BMW’s Bavarian background, Keller strived to create a delectable dish representative of food from the area.
When asked about how he finds his inspiration, Keller said, “Inspiration comes from an awareness of what we see and feel. I interpret the inspiration in a way that applies to me. It’s the evolution of the interpretation.”
The partnership between Chef Keller and BMW will provide guests and visitors an unsurpassed exploration of the senses. Find the recipe for Chef Keller’s BMW-inspired dish and more information about BMW at:
