SPRING IS ALMOST HERE!!!
Time for a change in the weather, the time, and the tires.
Driving along in Utah presents a lot of opportunity to see a vast array of countryside and scenery. It also means that we have to adapt to the famous Utah weather. We wanted to remind you that with the coming of spring you may need to do a few routine changes to your BMW.
TIME Change.
Thanks to Ben Franklin we have to adjust our clocks. If you have not adjusted your clock in your BMW or have forgotten don't worry, just come in to BMW and have your client advisor set it for you. We would be happy to see you again.
TPM or Tire Pressure Monitors.
Your BMW is most likely equipped with sensors located in the valve stem of your tires that monitors the air pressure. This system can be invaluable in alerting you to a potential problem with your car. With the Utah weather this can sometimes wreck havoc on those sensors. If you find that the TPM is going off and you have checked the tire pressure and everything is a OK it may be due to the temperature swings that favor us. When the temperature takes a dive in the night and than rapidly heats up only to cool down again all within about 12 hours, the air in your tires will adjust to those temperatures. This swing in temperatures can cause your tire pressure monitors to display a low pressure warning on the dash.
If you need help understanding or resetting this feature on your BMW, call your client advisor who would be glad to help you out, after all that is what they are here for. You can also stop into our service department and have your tires filled with nitrogen. Nitrogen will help to maintain equal pressure in your tires regardless of the outside temp.
Snow Tires.
In order to maximize the grip on the road during winter we have always recommended a set of snow tires. If you have snow tires on your BMW now is the time to switch them out, and get those road gripping sport tires out of storage and start driving into the sunset. We can help you remove your snow tires and install your sport tires. In fact you don't even need to take those snow tires home. We offer a snow/summer tire storage program where we will store those tires for you.
