DENVER – For the second time in five years, Blue Marble Enterprises has won the Public Relations Society of America's annual Silver Anvil
Award for outstanding public relations programs.
Using its trademarked BlueVision® Media Measurement System, Blue Marble supported State Farm Insurance's public relations campaign for Dr. Ian
Smith's 50 Million Pound Challenge by demonstrating the strong correlation between media coverage and participation in the national program to fight
obesity among African Americans. To date, challenge participants have lost nearly 2.2 million pounds.
"We found there was a 94 to 96 percent correlation between media coverage and traffic to the 50 Million Pound Challenge Web site
(www.50millionpounds.com)," said Blue Marble President Debra Parcheta. "That demonstrated the need to continue generating the local and
national media coverage that's been so important to the success of the 50 Million Pound Challenge."
Blue Marble teamed with another insurance company, CIGNA Corp., to win a Silver Anvil Award in 2003. Blue Marble used its BlueVision Media
Measurement System to measure the perception of CIGNA by financial analysts, customers, competitors and policy makers.
"State Farm and CIGNA are just two of many Fortune 500 companies that use Blue Marble's BlueVision Media Measurement System to measure and
improve the effectiveness of their public relations programs,” Parcheta said. “A lot of companies think of media measurement as simply collecting and
counting news clips. Our BlueVision Media Measurement System helps clients use their media measurements as a management tool to increase the
effectiveness of their public relations programs."
