For the CrossFitters not familiar with Blauer Tactical, it
is the CrossFit of the combatives world.
I have been training with Coach Blauer for six or seven
years and his research and knowledge about what happens in a real fight never
ceases to amaze me. As a firefighter and training officer I use Coach Blauer’s
research every day training firefighters. Coach Blauer’s research goes way
beyond physical combat.
If you can, get to the camp and experience both the SPEAR
system and CrossFit in the same weekend.

BACK UP YOUR DATA! We lost some great pictures from several
courses early in the New Year. After a hardrive crashed. We have no photos from
several courses but wanted to mention them and thank the officers and
organizers for their hard work:

“We have
done 90 officers over the last 3 days. 3-hour blocks of instruction per
group. Have had incredible feedback from officers / detectives /
administrators about the class on how great they think the SPEAR System
is. Had a community police officer stop me in the middle of drills and
state how he has never been a big proponent of DT training, but after 45
minutes of SPEAR System drills he had changed his mind because of how easy the
skills were to perform, how effective they were and how the system addressed
the 3 %er, which he had never seen before in a DT class.”

Our 15th consecutive
PERSONAL DEFENSE
READINESS certification is a wrap. Once again we had an excellent turnout
with trainers traveling from all over the world to attend this advanced
session. Returning coaches were treated to an advanced combat calisthenics
& CrossFit theme and then using our BALLISTIC MICRO-FIGHT formula,
replicated a bar fight simulation that involved 7 people.

Coach Blauer was down in Miami on business and promoting his upcoming training
camp that will be held in Orlando this year. While in Miami Tony got together
with Ami James to discuss some potential ‘artwork’. Aside from being the star
of Miami Ink and a world-renowned tattoo artist, Ami is also an avid martial
artist.
BLAUER TEACHES AT MIAMI JKD ACADEMY: Coach Blauer was invited to give a seminar at Dwight Woods
Unified Martial Art Academy in Miami.

LAS VEGAS METRO PD OFFICIALLY INTEGRATES SPEAR SYSTEM INTO
THEIR ACADEMY AND IN-SERVICE PROGRAMS.
Congratulations to LVMPD and the core cadre of instructors who recently
graduated from the LEVEL II program. A special thanks to Travis, Sal, Dom and
the rest of the gang for their tireless work over the years.

While in Vegas, UFC 71
was taking place and Blauer, who’s a
big supporter of MMA fighters and sponsors several pro fighters with HIGH GEAR
was on hand to watch the action.
OPERATION EXTREME SACRIFICE: Randy Couture hosted his first annual fundraiser on
Memorial Day following UFC 71. Several celebrities were on hand to show their
support for Randy and for soldiers fighting terrorism overseas. Coach Blauer
attended and donated to Randy’s foundation.

JACKSON’S MIXED MARTIAL ARTS ACADEMY http://www.jacksons.tv/mma/index.php is the most recent team to get involved with the HIGH GEAR
sponsorship program. Coach Greg Jackson used HIGH GEAR extensively to develop
tactics that helped Diego Sanchez defeat Karo
Parisian.
Coach Blauer traveled
to New Mexico to meet Greg’s UFC team and demo the gear and its many
applications for MMA.
Ju Jitsu master
Ricardo Murel was there with his prodigy Nate Marquart. Ricardo had heard about the SPEAR System in
Brazil and the two spent several house discussing law enforcement training.
FEDERAL TRAINING TEAM GETS S.P.E.A.R. CERTIFIED: Key trainers at the Harpers Ferry Training Facility in
Virginia brought Team Blauer in for certification in the SPEAR SYSTEM. Several
other trainers from surrounding agencies also attended the 5-day course.
Coaches Tony Torres & Jason Dury ran the session.
S.P.E.A.R. APPLICATIONS FOR THE FIREARMS INSTRUCTOR: Last year we launched our gunfighting & firearms
program. Firearms instructors from all over the world have attended these
sessions. Most recently we were invited to the United Kingdom to provide an
instructor level program on our research surrounding close quarter shooting,
CQB, crown penetration and much more. Considering the firearm laws in the UK,
this recognition of our research and training was a great moment for Tony

Burnsville, Minnesota: The
largest Blauer Tactical Systems S.P.E.A.R. System Level 1 Instructor
certification in the United States was held in June in Burnsville, Minnesota.
35 attendees from as far as Montana and Kansas as well as representatives of
the US Air Force participated in the event.
The class was an
outstanding success as the students showed enormous dedication in learning the
science behind the system as well as the S.P.E.A.R. Systems life saving drills
and skills.
The feedback from the
students was very positive as 100% of them agreed that the S.P.E.A.R. System
was the missing link in their training and a tool that can easily be added to
their training curriculum in order to enhance the survivability of their
students.
Congratulations to
Liam Duggan and Burnsville PD for hosting and promoting our largest S.P.E.A.R.
certification to date.

S.P.E.A.R. System instructors John Goodman, Charlie Moore, and Tony Torres.
