Photos & Feedback from Courses
Blauer Staff Coach Sean Mulligan was in WI for a custom course Jan 3 &4.

HERE ARE COMMENTS FROM THAT RECENT SPEAR SYSTEM WEAPON CONTROL & PROTECTION ORGANIZED BY OFFICER JASON WILTERDINK IN WISCONSIN.

Dear Tony,

My name is Nick Place and I am a police officer for the Mishicot, WI P.D.  I attended your weapons retention seminar this past weekend in Manitowoc, WI.  Jason Wilterdink got me interested in your system and I was very eager to attend the class.  The class and the material was nothing short of awesome, and I have never been to a course with such high intensity.  I think that the emphasis on being a good bad guy and ECT played an important role in the high intensity, and will no doubt help on the street. Sean did a good job of keeping the tempo up and teaching the class.  I particularly liked the simunition exercise at the end of the class.  I look forward to taking more of your classes in the future (the PDR program has been highly recommended to me by Wilterdink).  Finally, thanks for including the drills and research information packet with the class.

Sincerely,

Nick Place

Just wanted to let you know, the course we just trained in
Manitowoc was great.  I had been to SPEAR inst. cert.
before and the ground comb. course, but this was the
first Blauer course for my partner and he loved it.
He and I were talking quite a bit, and he said he
would love to attend a SPEAR inst. cert. course.  I
know we are going to have a dry spell here in
Wisconsin for this year, but i hear there may be a
SPEAR course upcoming in Illinois.  If you could
advise me of the dates for this course (if there is
one), I would appreciate it a great deal.  Hopefully
hear from you soon.

Take care.
Joe Nault

Sean,

Glad to meet you, and I look forward to training with you and Tony whenever I can. Hope that idea of making an LE video series comes to fruition.  D. Milbach was hooked also.  He had gotten a taste of the SPEAR from Marines that were on his protective team at Centcom.  With Framke living in the midst of all of us, we should be able to get some training in together.  Please keep me in mind if there are any SPEAR for Firearms Instructors classes coming up in the Midwest area.

                                           Stay safe (and warm),
                                           Jim Decker

Sean, excellent job this past weekend.  Steve and I were commenting how we took almost a week's worth of notes in just two days with very little classroom time.  If you have any suggestions as to how I can improve my "bad guy" please let me know.  If you get any other info on the ballistic training we talked about let me know. I played around a little with the concept doing some chest and the weight drop and I can see the benefits to CQC.  Take care and when you have time I would appreciate any assistance you could give me in putting my database of the Blauer Brigade together.

Take care,

Joe Framke

WE JUST RETURNED FROM A YEARLY TREK TO EUROPE.  HERE’S SOME FEEDBACK FROM OUR SPEAR SYSTEM OFFICER SURVIVAL COURSE IN ENGLAND FOR THE MET POLICE.

Hi,

Firstly can I convey a massive thank you for the delivery of the course. I have had nothing but positive feedback from all the attendees of the course. It was delivered at the right pitch and the content was suitable to that requested by those attending. As soon as the course had finished I witnessed our instructors going out and implementing training delivered on the course. We have also started to re-write some of the training delivered as a direct result of your input.

I have today just come from a meeting with my senior management and a H & S representative. The purpose of the meeting was to see how we could try and deliver the S.P.E.A.R. System in its entirety to the recruits.

Personally, thank you for the hard work… I am hopeful that with more people now onboard and supportive of your system that there will be another course next year, I have already had attendees of this course asking for that to take place, and I will do all I can to make it happen.

Once again thank you for a fantastic week.

Tom Hibberd

Tony,

I attended your Officer Survival School at MPSTC (London) in the first week in December, I was the guy who asked how you would 'take down' a bad guy carrying a concealed firearm, using plain clothed cops.

The weeks training was first class, and the volume was incredible.

I have returned to my force (Northumbria Police) and have put together a PowerPoint presentation using your SPEAR video, the HIGH GEAR video and some of the material you and Eric taught over the week. I presented the information today and it went down very well with my management - we are to introduce SPEAR methodology into our firearms training program starting in January.
I have also requested the purchase of ten (10) HIGH GEAR suits.

Thanks again for a first class week and I look forward to your next visit. By the way, what is the best way to move towards becoming a SPEAR instructor is it via a PDR course or is there a more appropriate way; will any certification courses take place in the UK?

Thanks again for sharing your time and knowledge,

George.

I know I am probably preaching to the converted here but this post is mainly for the benefit of any LEO's that may be new to the forum and to the SPEAR system.

I am a British cop and have spent the past week training on Tony Blauer's Officer Survival School held here in the UK.

It is the second time I have had the privilege of training with Coach Blauer.

The knowledge that Tony passed on during the week is truly phenomenal and there is perhaps even more knowledge to be gained over the next few months from studying the copious notes I made.

If there are any LEO's out there who read this, take my advice, a Police Officer with 25 years service, you owe it to yourself, your family and anyone who cares about you to get yourself on this course, it will play a major part in ensuring that you get home after each shift.

If your organisation will not pay for you, pay for yourself and if you think the cost is high, take it from me what you will gain is priceless.

A big thank-you to Coach Blauer for an excellent week. I hope to see you again soon.

Regards,

Gary Mills
