Look for us in several professional trade magazines this fall: LAW & ORDER, SWAT MAGAZINE & TACTICAL RESPONSE will all be running different features on our research and training. Black Belt magazine will also be scheduling something new for 2004.
 
Frank Shamrock and Tony Blauer have started discussing HIGH GEAR's applications for Frank's new law enforcement training courses, as well as his new MMA league. We'll keep you posted on upcoming programs as well as cross promotions between Blauer & Shamrock's companies.
 
New Logo/New programs: You’ve likely noticed our new logo. With all the new programs we've been beta testing for the last year, we figured it was time for a slightly new look.
 
Late last year we were contacted by Federal Express regarding possibilities to design a pilot safety program. After several demonstrations and meetings with key decision-makers, FEDEX selected our SPEAR System and PERSONAL DEFENSE READINESS program for their pilot course and aptly named the program: Cockpit Defense Readiness. CQB Gun fighting course: After years of testing drills we finally launched our gun-fighting program titled: SPEAR SYSTEM APPLICATIONS FOR THE FIREARMS INSTRUCTOR. The course blends our renowned research on startle-flinch conversion with the close quarter gunfight. We also have an end-user program based on the drills and program. The course won rave reviews at last years TTPOA SWAT conference and as well at the national IALEFI conference. Email us for details on hosting a SPEAR System course.
 
Breach, Shoot, Fight: The Tactical Trinity. Two years ago we helped organize a quickly sold out course based on the three major components to dominating a room: breaching, CQB and prisoner handling/subject control. The course was held in conjunction with Phil Singleton & Alan Brosnan and took place at Alan's T.E.E.S. facility near Memphis. Aside from our regular SPEAR SYSTEM instructor course hosted & sponsored by many training academies, technical schools and PD's, this year was an exciting one for our training cadre as we were invited to do specialty presentations for FLETC, United States Coast Guard SMTC, specialty program for the military and a custom course for the United Nations Security Services. Combatives Camp: Two years ago we hosted our first ever training camp at West Point, NY and used the USMA grounds for our training, last year we held the seminar in Montreal, likely next it will be in some exotic place like Las Vegas or Orlando. We'll keep you posted. The camp is typically in July, so keep your schedule free if this is something you'd like to attend.
 
Largest PDR Instructor Coach program to-date! We hold instructor certification for our PERSONAL DEFENSE READINESS course just twice a year. This advanced level training is held at our corporate headquarters in Montreal. The course is very different from our other professional courses for law enforcement & military training. The PDR is specifically designed for self-defense & martial arts instructors as well as DT or combatives instructors who consult with the general public and want to integrate our research professionally. To-date we’ve had attendees from all over the world including, Switzerland, Belgium, Scotland, Denmark, England, Venezuela, as well as all over Canada and the USA. Participants come to us with all types of backgrounds including military, law enforcement, MMA training.
 
 
In print: Over the years Mr. Blauer's research & principles have found their way into several books, both fiction & non-fiction. . On the best-seller list, Richard Marcinko & John Weisman incorporated Tony into one of the Rogue Warrior sequels (SEAL Force Alpha), currently in non-fiction, LTC Dave Grossman (ret) is incorporating one of Tony's principles into his new book on the Warrior Mind-set. Loren Christensen is also including a Q & A section with Tony in his upcoming book on Warriorhood. Acclaimed novelist Barry Eisler, a serious martial artist aside from author, is slated to include some Blauer tactics in his upcoming book from the popular John Rain series.

Dr. Eric Cobb has been on our core training staff for many years. His work on the research side is well known to many and his article PHYSIOLOGY OF SURVIVAL has been published in two continents. Eric's extensive training under Mr. Blauer, his work on the PDR team and his lead and assisting roles on countless LE & PDR programs have earned him the position Director of Training. In this role Eric will oversea education & devlopemnt of current team members and continue to help refine & define the SPEAR System's totality by decoding physiological truths that govern and influence human behavior. Sean Mulligan has been a long time member of the Blauer Core Team. Aside from his work at our camps, courses and seminars, Sean has been in involved in law enforcement for over 14 years as patrol officer, SWAT Operator, DT trainer and so on. Sean has worked alongside Mr. Blauer for years assisting in every course Blauer Tactical provides to the professional community. Sean is now the lead Law Enforcement Training Specialist for the SPEAR System and supervises and reviews every SPEAR session certification applicant. Marc Joseph is a new member of Team Blauer. Marc's business background is in sales/management and he will provide coordination and act as the liaison between our customer base and our core staff trainers for all of Blauer Tactical Systems service offerings, which include Integration and Support for PDR Team & SPEAR SYSTEM Coaches, HIGH GEAR end-user support, recruiting and staffing of our training teams, and Technical Training.
