Blood donations usually slack off around Christmas, but the demand for blood products is consistently high. That is why the Bill Marsh blood drive comes at a critical time – just days before Christmas. Organizers say blood donations typically decline because people are traveling for the holidays and the school schedules change.
Red Cross estimates that blood is needed every two-seconds someplace in the U.S. Yet only about ten-percent of eligible people donate blood.
Pre-registration is still available at www.RedCrossBlood.org and enter the sponsor code: BillMarsh. Free long-sleeve Red Cross T-shirt, while supplies last.
