Bill Marsh is one of the smallest car dealerships in the country to receive a 2018 Demon. This week it arrived, after much anticipation, in an enclosed truck. The car literally stopped traffic along Garfield Avenue as it was taken off the truck and carefully placed in the Chrysler showroom.
Only a limited number of these muscle cars will be made, with 3,000 sold in the U.S. and another 300 sold in Canada. Bill Marsh has committed to Dodge to sell this car for one-dollar under the sticker price of around $89,000. Because of its rarity this car would expect to sell for many thousands of dollars above sticker.
Rather than selling the car to the first customer to raise his or her hand, Bill Marsh has agreed to give all customers a shot at the car. On Wednesday, January 10th, the dealership will hold a Demon Auction For Charity. The top bidder will get the right to buy the car. All of the auction money will go to four charities: The Father Fred Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Toys for Tots and the T.C. Patriot Game.
“Instead of having the dealership pocket thousands of dollars above the sticker price, we wanted to share this car with some of the non-profit organizations that make a difference in our community,” says Bill Marsh Jr.
Bidders must be Bill Marsh customers and have purchased at least three cars in the past. Dozens of calls from around the country have been received from interested people. So far 15 customers have expressed an interest in joining the bidding. Some customers will join the action and bid by proxy on the phone.
Potential bidders should contact the Bill Marsh Dodge manager, Mike West at MWest@BillMarsh.com to find out how to participate.
The auction will be open to the public and refreshments will be served. Traverse City radio host Ron Jolly has agreed to serve as the auctioneer for the event.
