Fun & Games To Be Held Next Week
Gladhander Auction supports the Grand Traverse Area Catholic Schools
by Mike Kent

Gladhander will have the theme of “Fun & Games” and the school will morph into a surreal gameland that includes shades of Monopoly, Wheel of Fortune and Sorry.  Extensive decorations will adorn the building so it no longer looks like a school, but rather takes on the character of the theme.

The Gladhander Auction is a ticketed event that will be held Saturday, October 24th, but a free public viewing takes place Friday, October 23rd from 5 – 9:30 p.m.  Tickets for the Main Event are $300 a couple and available through www.Gladhander.com.  The auction includes frenzied bidding on hundreds of oral and silent auction items.  Items include exotic vacations, precious jewelry, hot cars, sporting event tickets and much more.

Adult guests to the free Preview can check out the elaborate decorations, bid on selected items and enjoy free refreshments.

Tickets are also on sale for the Gladhander Car Raffle.  It’s a chance to win your choice of a BMW sports car, a Cadillac luxury car or $32,000 in cash.  Raffle tickets are $125 each or two for $200 and also available through www.Gladhander.com.

Gladhander generates eight-percent of the total operating budget of the Grand Traverse Area Catholic Schools.  Since it began the fundraiser has pumped in more than $8-million to the school and has become Traverse City’s oldest and most prestigious gala event.

Guests check out the booths at last year's Gladhander
