As a way to usher in breast cancer awareness month, the
Bill Marsh Auto Group and
Hagerty Insurance joined forces to organize the Lunch on the Run fundraiser.
Hoagie lunches were prepared and sold late last month with all the proceeds going to the
Women’s Cancer Fund. The fundraiser is used to support the
Women’s Remembrance Run, which is a 5-mile run/walk held in early October at
Timber Ridge Campground.
A check of nearly $4,700 was presented to the Cancer Fund from Lunch on the Run. Plus a team of Bill Marsh employees participated in the Remembrance Run and donated nearly $1,000 more.
The Women’s Cancer Fund is set up through Munson Medical Center. The money is used to help local women who are dealing with the crippling effects of cancer. The money can be used for items like wigs or non-medical expenses that arise as a result of the disease. All the money stays in the local area and has helped hundreds of women since its creation.
Since the Bill Marsh Auto Group has been involved in fundraising for the Remembrance Run over $63,000 has been donated to the Women’s Cancer Fund.
