The New Year is here, welcoming a fresh start with lots of exciting happenings here at the Boston Harbor Hotel. We look forward to the opportunities of 2012 and have much to share with you.
This winter, we have already begun to celebrate the 23rd annual Boston Wine Festival. Chef Daniel Bruce, founder of the Boston Wine Festival, continues to offer guests exclusive, intimate dinners with renowned winemakers from across the globe. The dinners, seminars and events that are part of this 23rd anniversary season are sure to be unforgettable and will run through March with the Closing Reception on March 30th. We do hope you can join us.

Treat yourself to a luxurious Chardonnay Body Wrap. This serene and revitalizing treatment begins with a Chardonnay Sugar Scrub – a blend of cane sugar and shea butter. This all natural scrub exfoliates while nourishing and protecting the skin. The scrub is gently removed by a warm Vichy shower followed by a soothing Chardonnay body butter massage. The Chardonnay, lavender and rosemary increase skin hydration, leaving you with a natural glow.
The refreshing Chardonnay Massage melts away stress, reviving and nourishing dry winter skin using Chardonnay massage oil. Grape seed extract, jojoba, macadamia nut, avocado and coconut oils combine to help smooth, moisturize, and hydrate your skin, leaving you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

Rowes Wharf Sea Grille
Inventive cuisine, nautically-influenced design, and a vibrant harbor setting creates an unparalleled dining experience at the Rowes Wharf Sea Grille. The restaurant celebrates the hotel's unrivaled waterfront location. Chef Daniel Bruce, executive chef at the Boston Harbor Hotel for more than twenty years, has created a menu that features the freshest seafood, simply but artfully prepared. The harbor directly outside the windows of the Rowes Wharf Sea Grille leads to some of the richest fishing regions in the world. The menu changes frequently to reflect the best of the local catch as well as a selection of meat and vegetarian dishes.
Chocolate Bread Pudding

Heavy Cream |

Sugar (granulated) |

Whole eggs |

Egg yolks |
| ½ tsp. |
Vanilla |
| ½ cup |
Melted semi-sweet chocolate (Valrona or High Quality) |
| Procedure |
| In saucepan, scald milk, add cream, remove and cool until warm. |
| Whisk in milk to chocolate until smooth. |
| In bowl, beat together eggs and sugar. |
| Stir in chocolate mixture and reserve. |
| For Chocolate Bread |
| Ingredients |
| 2¼ cup |
Bread flour |
| ⅓ cup |
Cocoa powder |
| ¼ oz. |
Yeast (compressed or 1 pkg. dry) |
| 3 tbsp. |
Brown sugar |
| 3 tbsp. |
Granulated Sugar |
| ¾ tsp. |
Salt |
| 5 oz. |
Water |
| 5 oz. |
Milk |
| 3 tbsp. |
Butter |
| 4 ea. |
Egg yolks |
| Procedure |
| On bowl, combine all dry ingredients. |
| Dissolve yeast in water warmed to 110º (not too hot as it will kill yeast). |
| Add in all ingredients and develop dough by hand or on dough hook for 6 minutes. |
| Cover bowl and let double in size. |
| Remove from bowl, shape into loaf and place into buttered loaf pan. |
| Cover in warm area until dough has risen to 2½ times in size. |
| Place into 350º oven and bake approximately 25 minutes until light brown. |
| Remove, place on rack and cool. (Yield 1 loaf) |
| For Sauce |
| Ingredients |
| 1 cup |
Heavy cream |
| ⅓ cup |
Semi-sweet chocolate |
| Procedure |
| In pan, bring cream to boil slightly in bowl and pour over chocolate stirring constantly until smooth. Cool. |
| To Assemble |
| Lightly butter 10 ea. ovenproof 5 oz. ramekins or soufflé molds. |
| Slice bread ¼ inch thick. Cut into circles large enough to cover bottom of the molds. |
| Pour pudding mix over bread to ¼ from top of mold. |
| Place onto cookie sheet with ¼ inch of water on sheet to form a water bath. |
| Bake at 340º until pudding is set, approximately 35 minutes. |
| Remove and cool. |
| To serve, unmold onto plate; ladle on sauce around pudding and garnish with shaved chocolate. |
| Note: pudding can also be served warm. |
