Compliance Issues for Emergency Generators, Boilers and Batteries

For many pollutant sources, it is clear that an environmental permit would probably be needed from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MADEP), such as for processes with large emissions of volatile organic compounds. It is less intuitive, however, that there are many regulatory requirements for many types of emergency generators, boilers and even batteries!

Spring is Coming and Tier 1 and 2 Reports are Due on March 1st!

By March 1st, facilities covered by the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) are required to submit an emergency and hazardous chemical inventory to the state emergency response commission (SERC), the local emergency planning committee (LEPC), and the local fire department.
