Keeping an Eye Out for Contact Lens Safety

For almost three decades, the use of contact lenses in laboratories and in chemical environments was prohibited, or at least discouraged, by many companies. As of June 2005, NIOSH now recommends that contact lens wear be permitted in chemical environments provided that the following safety guidelines are followed.
