Keeping Buildings Mold-Free is Everyone’s Responsibility

If regularly read our newsletter, you understand that the amount of water and time (before wet materials are dealt with and dried out) are the two critical elements in determining whether or not excess moisture turns into a mold problem. Many share some control over both of those elements - the building designer, construction crews, maintenance and building management staff, and the building occupants themselves. At each stage in the building’s life cycle a failure by anyone can create or aggravate conditions that may lead to mold growth.

Asbestos in Soil – Proposed Massachusetts Regulations Clarify the Compliance Process

Asbestos in soil has posed an expensive proposition for many construction projects and spill sites due to confusing notification requirements, analytical limitations, and the lack of a clearly defined clean-up level. New policy changes for asbestos are intended to promote responsible management of the majority of projects involving low levels of asbestos contamination, and free up regulatory resources to cope with situations that pose the greatest risk to public health.
