The Honda Civic sedan lineup includes an exciting array of models to meet your particular needs while continuing to live up to Honda’s commitment to style, safety, fuel-efficiency and handling. With an extensive range of smart, sporty and stylish designs, the Honda Civic can be just what you want it to be!
There are many choices for the 2009 Honda Civic sedan. Trim levels include DX, LX, EX and EX-L plus the DX-VP (Value Package) and the sporty LX-S. In addition, there is a pair of eco-conscious models – a natural gas-fueled GX trim, and an earth-friendly hybrid.
The 2009 Honda Civic features a standard 1.8-liter inline SOHC i-VTEC® four-cylinder engine. This powerplant develops 140 hp with 128 lb/ft of torque, and delivers impressive fuel-efficiency. A five-speed manual transmission is standard, or you can choose an available five-speed automatic. All Civics rely on front-wheel drive.
When it comes to fuel economy, the Honda Civic knows how to stretch out every gallon of fuel. With a manual transmission, the Civic four-cylinder gets an EPA-estimated 26 mpg city and 34 mpg highway; the automatic-equipped Civic gets 25 mpg city and 36 mpg highway.
Inside the five-passenger Honda Civic, you’ll find a refined, comfortable cabin that features nice details like cool blue instrument lighting, power windows, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel and vanity mirrors on all trim levels. The DX-VP adds upgrades to the base model DX sedan including filtered air conditioning and a 160-watt AM/FM/CD sound system with MP3/WMA playback and auxiliary input jack. LX and EX models add steering wheel-mounted cruise control, and the steering wheel is leather-wrapped in the LX-S and EX-L. EX and EX-L models offer the option of a navigation system, satellite radio and Bluetooth connectivity. The EX-L treats you to leather upholstery, heated front seats and a one-touch power moonroof.
When the road beckons, Civic offers 12 cubic feet of trunk space for your gear, and a foldable seatback on the spacious rear bench. The EX trim adds a 60/40 split/folding rear bench.
The exterior of the Civic has been revitalized and revamped all around; its streamlined and stylish appearance enhanced with a striking grille, sloped windshield and tightened fender gaps. The latest in taillight design adorns the rear with clear covers over colored turn-signal bulbs. The LX-S adds sport appeal with a decklid spoiler and chrome exhaust finisher.
DX and DX-VP trims roll out on 15-inch wheels while the LX, LX-S, EX and EX-L trims step up to 16 inchers.
Honda’s commitment to occupant safety begins with Civic’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE) body structure, a Honda-exclusive that reduces crash forces transferred to Civic’s passenger compartment and helps protect passengers of the other vehicle in a crash by more evenly dispersing crash energy to it. Standard features include driver and front passenger active head restraints, three-point safety belts in all seats, antilock brakes and side-curtain and dual-stage front airbags. Of note is Civic’s Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with traction control, which corrects oversteer and understeer by braking individual wheels or adjusting engine thrust. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) was so impressed that it named the Civic a “Top Safety Pick for Small Cars.”
The Honda Civic offers so many choices, so many benefits. Take one for a drive and decide just which way you want it!
