If you’re in the mood for an Irish-inspired feast, reserve a table at Zorvino Vineyards’ Gourmet Micro Brew Dinner, taking place on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 6:30 P.M. Located at 226 Main Street in Sandown, New Hampshire, Zorvino Vineyards celebrates St. Patrick’s Day the right way with plenty of food, beer and cheer! The evening’s menu includes a four-course dinner with each dish matched to the perfect beer for the ultimate flavor experience. Start with an appetizer of hearty Irish stew, and finish with a Guinness Stout Cake for dessert! The evening also features a cocktail hour, and the area’s best microbreweries will be on hand to serve samples of their latest ales and lagers. Dinner tickets are $50.00 per person. Sample and savor local wines as live acoustic music sets the mood at Chamard Vineyards’ Music in the Tasting Room. On March 20, 2010 at 5:00 P.M, Music in the Tasting Room will feature the music of guitarist Reed Waddle. This touring musician is the winner of the New York Songwriter’s Circle Songwriting Competition and has also received attention from several area magazines. Don’t miss this talented young artist! Things will heat up this spring at Sunday River Ski Resort’s 20th Annual Eat the Heat Chili Cook-Off & Firefighters’ Race, taking place on March 28, 2010 at the White Cap Lodge located at 15 South Ridge Lodge in Newry, Maine. It’s all in good sport as chili chefs compete to be the champion of the cooking contest, judged by a crowd of chili connoisseurs and attendees like you! Sample savory chili as you watch teams of firefighters dressed in turnout gear with fire hoses in hand, as they race on skis toward the finish line to raise money for Maine Handicapped Skiing. Bring your cameras, as it’s sure to be a good time. Other activities scheduled for the day include the Chili-Dog Eating Contest, live music and free prize giveaways. If sipping fine wine is one of your favorite pastimes, the 21st Annual Boston Wine Festival will put a splash in your glass! Enjoy a different wine-related event each evening now through April 2, 2010! Activities include wine tasting receptions, delectable dinners prepared by Master Chef Bruce, and seminars presented by both national and international vineyards!
