Paula Fernandez Dunn, a South Carolina high school teacher, has created a Spanish language guide for the main museum gallery. The guide helps make South Carolina's military heritage and history accessible to Spanish speakers. In June, Paula completed this internship project through the Midlands Educators and Business Alliance, a non-profit organization that connects Midlands teachers to the business community.
Paula is currently at Blythewood High School and is in her thirty-fourth year of teaching Spanish. She has a passion for teaching students about the Spanish language and Hispanic culture. She hopes that this gallery guide will help Spanish-speaking visitors learn about the importance of South Carolina and American history.
The guide is available at the museum and as a PDF on the museum's website.
