Bill Turina is Barrier Volvo’s shop foreman, a master technician, and is a 35-year Volvo veteran, with 20 years at Barrier Volvo.
Erik Demoss is a Barrier Volvo master technician and is a five-year veteran with Volvo--all five years here at Barrier Volvo.
In addition to our technical staff that will be competing, Erik Bryar (a Master-rated service advisor) will be joining them to compete on the customer service side of the competition. Erik has been in the automotive business for 14 years, the last eight with Barrier Volvo.
The group will fly to Volvo headquarters in Rockleigh, New Jersey and compete for the
National title this May. These individuals should be lauded for their efforts, given the complexity of the semi-finals testing. Finalists for the technical competition have to demonstrate their mastery of their skills in relation to technical repair procedures, fault tracing, precision measurement, use of wiring diagrams, and service information. Likewise in the customer service competition, the contestants have been chosen on their mastery of Volvo policies, procedures, customer service and product knowledge.
The winners of the National title will be recognized at an awards banquet held in Rockleigh.
They will also be invited to Sweden to participate with other National winners from around the
world in a Volvo Swedish Study trip. Congratulations to Bill, Erik and Erik.
