GABBS (Great American Bargain Book Show), the late-summer overstock and remainder show is over, the Regional Bookseller Shows are in full swing this month, and the Chicago International Remainder and Overstock Book Exposition is on the horizon. CIROBE, slated for October 28-31 has evolved over the past few years from a weekend show with some vendors opening up break-out rooms earlier, to this year's expansion where the show 'officially' opens on Thursday,  but allowing any vendor to procure space for Wednesday and open up shop a day earlier. A number of worldwide newspapers and online news outlets in late August, particularly in Great Britain, carried a story about 6-year-old Leo Hunter, who is said to have been offered a 23-book deal with a U.S. publisher worth thousands of dollars after he supposedly wrote a book titled Me and My Best Friend about him and his dog.
