If your computer is running slowly there are some simple things you can do to make your computer run faster.
1) BUY MORE RAM
Add RAM (memory) to increase speed. Prices can range from $40.00 to $200.00. Buy it from any store that sells computers or you can go online and look for sellers of RAM ... they're out there! If you want to install it yourself -just Google "How do I install RAM".
2) USE WINDOWS READYBOOST
ReadyBoost allows you to use fast memory drives/cards for a high systems cache that is intended to boost speed without adding RAM
3) INSTALL WINDOWS 7
If you have a high-end PC with more than 3GB of RAM then you should use 64 bit version of Windows.
4) KEEP SYSTEMS DRIVES UP TO DATE
Keep your main systems drivers up to date ... check graphics cards, audios settings and other things.
5) DISABLE UNWANTED APPLICATIONS.
Almost all computers are full of small utilities and many unneeded software programs. These will slow your system down tremendously. Run 'msconfig' and go to the 'startup' tab and change your startup list. You can disable and uninstall certain software.
