Vehicle Details: 2012 Subaru Impreza Advantages
The Impreza impresses at all turns.

Compact cars are better than ever, delivering premium features in nimble, fuel-efficient packages perfectly suited for urban driving. With the benefit of Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, and an energetic yet economical SUBARU BOXER® engine, the 2012 Subaru Impreza sets itself apart in this category as the fun, capable choice.

The Impreza is available as either a four-door sedan or five-door wagon. Many offerings in the small-car segment, like the Honda Civic, Nissan Sentra and Chevy Cruze, do not offer wagon or hatchback variants. With a maximum 52.4 cubic feet of cargo space and clever storage options like a rear under-floor storage compartment, the Impreza Wagon delivers superior versatility.

The 2012 Subaru Impreza 2.0i Sedan, with an MSRP of $17,495 features standard Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive, as does the entire Impreza line. All-wheel drive isn’t available on most models in this class, including the Civic, Sentra and Cruze. With its 148-hp BOXER engine and Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), the Impreza is the most fuel efficient all-wheel drive car in America, delivering 27 mpg city and 36 mpg highway, and it delivers more horsepower than the Civic, Sentra and Cruze, too.

For those who prefer to shift their own gears, the Impreza can also be had with a five-speed manual transmission. Both the five-speed and the CVT provide an entertaining ride, sprightly handling, and quick response to avoid the unforeseen dangers of the open road. So involved is the ride that MotorWeek deemed the Impreza the Driver’s Choice for “Best Compact Car.”

The appearance of the Impreza compliments its fun-to-drive nature. Angular headlights are met with pronounced fender flares and crisp body lines. Its style evokes a youthful energy, especially when juxtaposed with the comparatively staid designs of cars like the Ford Focus, Honda Civic and Nissan Sentra. Opt for the top Impreza Sport Premium (MSRP $20,295) or Sport Limited (MSRP $22,595) trims and you get a two-tone paint scheme, standard roof rails and a standard all-weather package that comes with a windshield-wiper de-icer; no other vehicle in this segment has the wiper de-icer feature, and no other vehicle in the segment is better-suited to taking on inclement weather.

The cabin of the Impreza exemplifies everyday usability. While competitors seek to wow the driver with a crowded center console, the Impreza offers the same features and better utility in a simple, easy-to-use layout. The available GPS navigation system is incredibly simple. It is voice activated, provides real-time traffic information and has text messaging capability.

The Impreza delivers piece of mind as an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) “Top Safety Pick.” Such an accolade is earned through features like the four-wheel Antilock Braking System, Vehicle Dynamic Control, and Traction Control System, as well as Tire Pressure Monitoring System, front and side airbags, and superior performance in roof-strength tests.

Another key safety element of the Impreza is its reinforced, high-tensile steel frame, designed to disperse crash forces evenly and safely in the event of an impact.

The uncompromising capability of Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and the superior fuel efficiency of the Subaru Impreza leave the competition in the dust. Its capability makes it more useful in everyday driving, and its spirited handling is perfect for owners who care about the fun in driving. From fuel efficiency to frugal utility, the Subaru Impreza is the fun-to-drive all-weather standout in the compact car segment. Contact us to take a test drive today.
