Electronics Plant Keeps Operating
With Baldor TS130 Generator

KB Electronics located in Coral Springs Florida manufactures a line of DC & AC drives below 5 HP.  In one part of their factory, they have two SMT (Surface Mount Technology) lines and eight zone reflow ovens used for Printed Circuit Board (PCB) manufacturing.

The SMT placement machines use servo drives to select and place Surface Mount Technology (SMT) components (resistors, capacitors, and diodes) onto the Printed Circuit Boards.  The reflow ovens heat up the boards to soften the solder and attach the components permanently. When the SMT lines and the ovens are not working, ‘board’ making at the factory virtually comes to a halt.

“Most of the equipment at KB Electronics is designed to operate on three phase power,” comments Richard Fritts, National Sales Manager for KB. “We lost one leg of our three phase service from the power company recently and the Baldor TS130 allowed us to keep operating both SMT lines at full capacity and to preserve a full day's production.”

“The Baldor generator was purchased in the wake of Hurricane Wilma which affected the Coral Springs area in 2005,” says John Kessler of the Baldor Tampa Office. “ Hurricane Wilma brought a lot of destruction in that area, but KB Electronics was able to do partial production using the Baldor TS130 generator during their 2-week power outage.”

Baldor industrial mobile gen-sets, available in ratings from 25KVA to 400KVA, are designed for reliable performance. They are engineered to be quiet for city use (64-71dBA) and durable enough for rugged country conditions. When used with a transfer switch, the units can serve as a stationary automatic standby power source. For more information, contact a Baldor District Office.

TS130 tied down in case of strong winds. Tires (in storage) can be installed quickly and unit towed to other areas of the plant when needed.
