Department of Labor Orders Backpay for 17 H-1B Physicians

In a 120-page decision, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) ordered an employer to pay over $1,000,000 in back pay plus penalties (cumulatively) to 17 doctors employed to work in five medical clinics in Tennessee. The DOL found that the employer failed to pay the wages required by the H-1B labor condition applications and discriminated against 9 of the doctors by discharging them.
