Part of the BES system is an encoding program that encodes the scripts. The other part is the BadBlue Enterprise Edition web server, which runs the scripts.
The BES Encoding Program protects PHP and other CGI script source code from inspection and yet allows it to be physically distributed. BES can assign an optional "expiration date" to scripts. If the expiration date is reached, the scripts do not execute and simply return a "Script Expired" warning message.
For a limited time, BadBlue EE is bundled with the encoding system so you get everything you need to start distributing secure applications that don't expose your scripts. If you're new to BadBlue, try the free Personal Edition download with the
quick start configuration for PHP so you can determine whether it's a fit for your application.
