New name, same mission!
Effective January 1, 2009, AwwaRF’s new name will be Water Research Foundation.

We are changing the name to help ensure the Foundation’s long-term viability and build support for our critical drinking water research. What we are not changing is our dedication to advancing the science of water on behalf of water suppliers and others who rely upon research to ensure the public water supply is safe, affordable, and sustainable. Proposed Projects for 2009 Announced; Volunteers Sought
The proposed research agenda for 2009 has been developed by the Research Advisory Council, and preliminary project titles and descriptions can be viewed on the Web site. In addition, volunteer opportunities for the projects are available for participating utilities and Project Advisory Committee members.

Sigma Xi, a research society that publishes American Scientist magazine and sponsors various scientific programs, has selected a paper submitted by AwwaRF to its “2008 Year of Water” call for papers. The paper is on the effects of climate change on public water suppliers.
