Nearly 10 years ago, the Cadillac CTS brought the brand back into the conversation of the world’s best luxury sedans for a new age of driver. Since then, the CTS has continued to impress both critics and customers alike, and the CTS line, now on sale here at Autoteam Delaware in Wilmington, Delaware, has grown to include multiple iterations of the popular formula that has made it so successful.
The rear-wheel drive 2013 Cadillac CTS family includes Sport Sedan (MSRP $39,095) Sport Wagon (MSRP $39,205) and Coupe (MSRP $38,905) body styles. For those buyers who want total roadway dominance, the CTS-V Sedan, Wagon and Coupe (MSRP $64,515 for each) are also available. All models come standard with StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System and the security of OnStar with Automatic Crash Response, Hands-Free Calling and Vehicle Diagnostics. Cadillac drivers enjoy a six-year/70,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty with Roadside Assistance, as well as Cadillac Premium Care Maintenance that covers all oil changes, tire rotations and multi point vehicle inspections for four years/50,000 miles.
CTS Sport Sedan: The CTS that started it all is available in Luxury, Performance and Premium trims. All models come standard with a 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces 270 hp and 223 lb/ft of torque through a six-speed automatic transmission and returns up to 27 mpg on the highway. A 3.6-liter V6 good for 318 hp and 275 lb/ft of torque is also available, as is all-wheel drive and a choice of sport and performance suspensions. Leather seating is standard and available upscale amenities include heated and ventilated front seats, a 10-speaker, Bose surround-sound audio system and a heated steering wheel.
CTS Sport Wagon: Unique in the segment, the CTS Sport Wagon offers the same powertrain choices as its four-door sibling and adds a cargo capacity of up to 58 cubic feet, an available programmable power liftgate, and large LED taillamps. Options include Sapele wood trim, microfiber suede seat inserts and a panoramic rear sunroof.
CTS Coupe: Almost identical to the concept vehicle that inspired it, the four-passenger Coupe shares the same wheelbase as the Sport Sedan, with overall dimensions that are lower and shorter for a more menacing look. The Coupe further distinguishes itself from the Sport Sedan with a touch-pad for the doors (replacing conventional handles), a sculpted fascia, a rear spoiler and exhaust outlets in the center of the rear fascia. All Coupe models come standard with the larger, 3.6-liter V6 and feature a sport suspension. Keyless access, Bluetooth, Ultrasonic Rear Park Assist and heated exterior mirrors are all standard.
As the first street-legal production car to break the eight-minute mark at the vaunted Nürburgring track in Germany, the CTS-V features the cutting edge design that makes the CTS so popular and adds in its own unique styling cues, including a mesh front grille, aggressive front fascia and raised hood. Performance is provided by a tire-scorching, supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that cranks out 556 hp and 551 lb/ft of torque through a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic. The CTS-V features the world’s fastest suspension technology in its Magnetic Ride Control and has Brembo brakes at all four corners. Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires specially engineered for the CTS-V ensure maximum grip and performance. Inside, Recaro performance driving seats with 14-way adjustments, Bose surround-sound and ambient lighting are all standard. The CTS-V Coupe and CTS-V Sport Wagon add the same versatility and style elements as their non-V siblings, with the heart-stopping performance of the supercharged V8.
