2004 Western Region Credit Conference
www.wrcc.biz

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 13 – FRIDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2004

It’s that time of year again when the Western Region NACM Affiliates host the Western Region Credit Conference.  The Affiliates include Phoenix, Burbank, Denver, Las Vegas, Portland, Reno, Salt Lake City, San Diego, San Leandro, Seattle, and  Spokane. This year’s conference will be held at the fabulous Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.  Room rates are a reasonable $59.00 per night, and this year we are offering discounted conference registration for attendees who stay at the Golden Nugget, so register early to guarantee availability and get the best price. Brochures will be in the mail soon, but online registration is available now at
www.wrcc.biz.

Keynote speaker Nancy Friedman “The Telephone Doctor” will open the conference with her presentation “How to be an Island of Excellence in an Ocean of Mediocrity.”
“You’ll never get a second change to make a good first impression.” In fact, with the intense competition for every business dollar, it would be more accurate to say, “If the customer’s first impression of your company is a lousy one, they won’t give you a second chance.”  Nancy Friedman, recognized internationally as a leading expert on customer service training, says: “More business is lost due to poor service and poor treatment than poor product.”   Nancy’s program is loaded with enthusiasm, wit and common sense.  You won’t want to miss this one!  She has been a guest on Oprah, The Today Show and Good Morning America.

LINK-IN NETWORKING THEME

The personal and professional contacts that you make at this conference will be of major value to you for years to come. The 2004 WRCC will promote networking using specialized name-badges, business card holders, networking events during the opening session and lunch, and contests (with prizes). To fully participate in Link-in make sure to answer the four Link-in networking questions on your Registration Form. These answers will be added to attendees name-badge's and become a great way to strike up conversation. By the end of the Link-in conference you will be a master networker with a business card holder filled with great contacts for the future. Don't forget to bring at least 250 of your business cards with you to the conference.

EDUCATIONAL BREAKOUT SESSIONS

Each breakout session will offer Continuing Education Units. You will earn points towards your NACM certification. Some advanced sessions will also carry CCE Re-certification points. Breakout sessions will give you the latest information on core topics such as bankruptcy warning signs, antitrust; fraud, government receivables, deduction management, and financial statement analysis. You will also be able to take advantage of some brand new programs to help you face challenges in the modern credit environment, including electronic funds transfer, conducting business with sovereign nations, and developing strategies and performance measures for your own credit department.

NEW CERTIFICATE SESSION TRACK – CREDIT 101

This year we are pleased to announce that we are offering a CREDIT 101 Certificate of Completion Session.  The certificate session is intended for those new to the credit field, and includes topics on Antitrust Rules and ECOA, collection tools and techniques, and bankruptcy basics. All are welcome to attend these sessions, and those who attend all four will be presented with a CREDIT 101 Certificate of Completion at the end of the curriculum.

EXPO HALL

The Expo Hall is your opportunity to visit with Exhibitors who can introduce you to the latest in credit management services and technology to help you meet the challenges of today’s business environment. The Hall will feature vendors from different areas of expertise, such as credit reporting agencies, collection software, check guarantee services, EFT/ACH, security instruments and much more.

CLOSING KEYNOTE

Your credit conference adventure will end on a high note thanks to Emmy Award Winning Producer Dan Buettner, who will present:  “Leading Your Team into the Real World.”  Dan’s leadership techniques have been mastered through 16 expeditions.  On those journeys, his teams lived together 24 hours a day, experienced sickness and mortal fear, fatigue, extreme climates and terrain and set world records.  Whether you’re building and navigating a team for success throughout the Sahara or through the rough terrain of modern credit management, you will be amazed and entertained as you absorb Dan’s recipe and tools for leadership that will provide a powerful and lasting impact.
