If I believed in the power of Psychics maybe I would have experienced a lot less eye twitching during the anscers downtime in October. I could have called up Miss Cleo and asked for a anscers reading, "Miss Cleo, can you tell me when these problems will be resolved?" and she would have said "Honey, don't you worry. November 7 is the day all will be well, and by the way, Honey, stop winking at me."
Miss Cleo would have been right about November 7, but the lady can't tell the difference between a twitch and a wink.
Our crisis in October started with a virus attack, then was compounded by data corruption from software updates, and ended with some incorrect software drivers.
Throughout this entire process, CMA and the anscers Programmers encountered, diagnosed and resolved multiple vulnerabilities in the anscers system.
While we can not promise our users that a virus attack, or a level of data corruption will never happen again, we can assure you that it will never again take the same amount of time to make it right.
Currently, the Encyclopedia of Credit and anscers Help section remain unavailable. We need to move the software that runs these two items to a new server. CMA anticipates that this will be completed by November 21, 2003.
CMA and the anscers Programmers learned a lot during this crisis. We have instituted new measures to ensure that anscers is never again offline for such an extended period of time. As a result of these new measures, the system is more stable and performs more smoothly than before the crisis. We hope that you find this to be the case during your anscers experience.
