Mentor's can benefit credit professionals and their employers. So, CMA Business Credit Services and C.F.D.D. (Credit and Financial Development Division) have joined together to offer a Mentor Program for CMA members. What is a mentor? In the credit profession, it could mean many things to different people. A mentor to CFDD is a person who has an impact on someone's career through deeds, actions or works. A mentor can be an important person to a credit professional. A mentor can help develop performance standards, challenge self-expectations, build confidence and foster professionalism.
What is CFDD? A CFDD Chapter is a group of credit professionals organized with a focus on education, networking, and support for employees of member firms of the National Association of Credit Management. CFDD has monthly meetings on educational topics that pertain to the issues facing the credit department today.
Our guest speakers are specifically sought after for their expertise in their field. No matter what level of expertise you have or plan to achieve, you will leave CFDD meetings with tools to support your activities in the credit department.
Our next meeting will be September 9, 2003 at Steven's Steakhouse in Commerce. This will be a dinner meeting and starts at 6:00pm. Our topic will be "How to Run an Effective Management Meeting & Management Styles". For more information, please contact Kym Price at the address below.
Look for us at the Western Region Credit Congress in September. CFDD Los Angeles will have a resource table in the Expo Hall. We are also excited to announce our new local website: www.cfdd.info which is currently under construction but future program information will be available soon! Our national website is: www.cfdd.org.
If you are looking for assistance on your Career Roadmap through the credit profession, consider CFDD and its mentor program. We are committed to the education of the next generation of credit professionals.
