Welcome to our premier issue of the Alpha Software Newsletter!

We decided to reach out to all Alpha users, to help you become more familiar with our software, to learn new ways to use it and to strengthen the Alpha user “community”.   To accomplish this, we will be providing how-to articles, access to resources, and feedback from other users.   We will try to include something in each issue for all users, from novice to expert.

First of all, we would like to make you aware of some of the resources that Alpha offers.

Probably the best way to have your technical questions answered is our Message Board.   For those of you not familiar with it, this is an area where one user can post a specific question, and other users (and sometimes Alpha's president!) respond with answers.   With over 50,000 posts to date, there have been very few questions that have not been answered.   These questions have covered nearly everything you could think of, from simple procedures to complex scripts.   Very often, several solutions are offered for a given problem, and the best part is that the questions are usually answered within a few hours!

Another excellent resource is the Tips & Tricks section.   This area is dedicated to tips and tricks that Alpha users have come up with to make software design simpler, more efficient, or more professional.   The tips are usually general enough that most users could benefit from them.

If you are interested in more complex solutions, you should visit the Code Archive.   This is like a more advanced Tips section, and is dedicated to XBasic scripts.   Users that have developed scripts to accomplish different tasks post their scripts here, so other users can benefit from them.   It is also a give-and-take forum in which other users can offer improvements or modifications.

We are very excited about this newsletter and hope that it will become another important resource that will benefit the entire Alpha community.   For this to happen, we will need your input.   Therefore, we very much welcome your ideas for future newsletters, comments, suggestions, and criticisms.   Also, we are looking for anyone that might want to contribute an article to this newsletter.
