A "part" of Jim Viens you may not see

It was a pleasure sitting down and catching up with Jim Viens, Jim began his career here at Almartin Volvo in 1985.   He was attending school at Champlain College at the time and his job in the parts department allowed him to work full time in the summer and part time during the school year.  After working 8 years in the parts department he ultimately became  the parts manager in 1992.  


When Jim started at Almartin the dealership was both Volvo and Renault.  Not too long after he began working, the dealership became the exclusive Volvo dealership that it is today.  With that change, the size of the parts department shrunk temporarily through the transition.  Jim was such an asset to the business he was able to stay on and do many other tasks that allowed him to learn all aspects of the business.  He was a shuttle driver, prep person, he did car swaps and as a matter of fact we remembered that at one time in the late 80’s we both went on a car swap to New York.  We reminisced about our adventure.  It didn’t take long for the Volvo franchise to grow and Jim was back working full time in the parts department.
