What seems like many months ago a friend of mine said to me after we had finished the Great North run (which is a half marathon) “how on earth does anyone complete a marathon”. This was the day after the event and we were still sore from the long run the day before. In a moment of madness, I said “let’s find out” that was in October 2009 and the start of trying to achieve something I never thought I was capable of.

Billy Schwer

Billy was born in Bedfordshire and is perhaps best known for his prowess as a world championship boxer.
Aged just thirteen, he became the national school boy boxing champion; a title he held for two years. Leaving school at fifteen to qualify as a carpenter whilst working hard to fulfil his desire to become a professional boxer.
