What does it mean when your TPMS light comes on?
With the winter season upon us and decreasing air temperatures the norm, TPMS lights are flashing! There are several reasons why tire pressure may change:
1) Tire damage
2) Slow leaks
3) A drop in outside (ambient) air temperature. For every 10 degrees of temp drop, tires lose 1lb of pressure.
4) Tires deflate naturally over time - as much as 1.5 lbs. per month!

Given enough time and temperature drop , it`s not uncommon for the TPMS system to alert the vehicle operator that the tire pressure is low!
