As you are aware, Daylight Savings Time ends this year on November 1, 2009 when we pushed our clocks back 1 hour. This is the result of a new federal law that took effect acouple of years ago that moved the DST time change earlier and later in the year. In the navigation systems that allow for DST, this poses a potential problem - the system does not know about the new DST schedule if purchased before the Change was made law.
Here is what you can do to correct the time:
Before you start, make sure the vehicle is paired to a remote transmitter. You must use that remote transmitter to unlock the door before you set the clock. If, when you set the clock, the vehicle is in the Guest mode instead of the Driver 1 or Driver 2 mode, the clock will go back to its previous time as soon as you open the door with that paired remote.
1. Go to the appropriate setup screen that is used to adjust the clock. If the screen has a setting for Daylight Saving Time, turn off that setting and go to step 2.
2. Set the clock to the correct tiem if needed.
On more most recent versions of the Navi software, the clock setup screen actually allows you to choose the correct Daylight Savings Time settings. For those systems, go to the setup menu and select clock adjustment. There you will be given a DST choice of either April - October or March - November. The correct setting is March - November.
We have our lawmakers in Washington D.C. to thank for creating havoc with our Navi clocks.
