Three exciting projects we are currently working on
a-connect's footprint in different industries around the globe keeps growing: In Hong Kong, we are finishing off a regional strategy study for one of the world's leading financial services firms. In the US, we are helping a leading on-line retailer/reseller in a detailed market study of the global print-classifieds market; and in Europe, we are helping an emerging consumer credit client review the efficiency and effectiveness of its business model.

1. Regional strategy development, Hong Kong
a-connect helped a leading integrated global financial services client in a large effort to develop and implement their regional strategy for Asia Pacific with the objective to become a top player in core Asian markets. In an initial phase connect supported the preparation and execution of a number of strategy workshops in selected regional markets with the respective client leadership group. An emphasis was put on identifying primarily organic, but potentially also inorganic growth opportunities that would span cross-business units, in order to deliver the organization’s full value to their clients. In a second phase a-connect helped to drive selected initiatives, and ensure an integrated program management across the region. The two a-connect IPs working on the assignment brought the necessary project management skills and industry knowledge to effectively help the client launch and manage the complex program, and effectively drive the strategic initiatives and meet agreed targets. They worked closely with the regional client strategy team and leadership group.
3. Global print-classifieds market study, US
a-connect performed a detailed market study of the global print-classifieds market for a leading on-line retailer/reseller. The client was interested in core European markets as well as the US and Australia and wanted to understand the dynamics between on-line and traditional print classified ads. An emphasis was placed on interviewing in-market experts and evaluating why certain players had successfully made the transition from print to on-line. a-connect staffed three IPs, one in Europe and two in the US, who in the first phase focused on gathering market data, size by country, growth and key players. In a subsequent phase with the help of expert interviews the team was able to address a set of strategic questions the client was seeking to understand. The team ultimately delivered a synthesized product covering all the markets in question and addressing the key strategic questions.
2. Review of efficiency and effectiveness of business model, EU
a-connect is currently helping an emerging consumer credit client to review their front line to develop a standard model that should ultimately achieve higher performance and greater consistency across the client's agent network. To do so, the a-connect team (experienced in agent-based network optimization as well as in each of the relevant countries) is identifying successful practices and behaviours of high performing agents and development managers and identifying which processes and tools will enable this successful behaviour. The project started in Poland and Hungary and is expected to extend to Mexico early next year.
