Five exciting projects we are currently working on
From TV marketing and pharmaceutical distribution strategy projects in Asia to consumer segmentation, small business strategy and headquarters relocation projects in the US to an organizational re-design project in Europe, a-connect IPs are having impact at a number of clients in various industries around the world.
1. TV marketing strategy, South Korea a-connect is in the midst of supporting a private equity company with one of its portfolio companies. Specifically, the a-connect IP has been asked to drive the marketing strategy for this Korean portfolio company in order to increase its subscriber base and improve its retention ratio. The Singapore-based IP has spent significant amount of time in Korea assisting in defining and executing the marketing strategy in the direction of more user-defined content packaging and pricing, designing programming packs and leading cross-functional teams.
2. Pharmaceutical distribution strategy, Hong Kong a-connect is working with the client to develop and crystallize an overall strategy for the company. The a-connect team consists of two IPs: a senior executive and consultant in business strategy, organization and change management, and a hands-on project manager consultant with a background in the logistics industry.
3. New Financial Services Client, USA From the beginning of the year we have been collaborating with a financial services client based in California. We have two exciting projects underway: Consumer Segmentation: A senior California based IP is leading a team of 4 part-time IPs in a rigorous consumer segmentation project which has already helped the senior executive team move from a mass market mindset to a targeted segmentation approach, including customer lifecycle management, customer value proposition and the identification of high growth segments. Small Business Strategy: 3 California based IPs have been joined by a Hong Kong based IP to help the small business division develop the business plan and initiatives to help them meet their aggressive growth goals. This includes segmenting the small business customers, understanding their full financial services needs, putting together marketing plans for key States and identifying the characteristics of their top performs that can be coached and taught.
It is an exciting series of projects that are keeping us busy on the West Coast!
4. Headquarters Relocation, USA One of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies acquired a fast-growing vaccines and diagnostics manufacturer in 2006. In order to integrate the businesses and generate synergies, our client decided to co-locate management, research and development at a new research center on the US East Coast. a-connect was asked to manage the overall project to relocate 250 headquarters positions of this new division from California to Massachusetts. Our IP worked with functional management to define their new organizational requirements, and with Human Resources to develop the processes and policies to help people through the transition. In the end, over 40% of the current staff agreed, in the middle of winter, to make the move.
5. Organizational re-design in media & advertising, Switzerland a-connect is working with a leading media & advertising client and helping them in crafting the new organizational structure, one that will better support their new strategic direction. The IP is working closely with an internal team and supporting them by providing project and approach structuring, work planning, organizational design methodology, analysis, a neutral and objective viewpoint, and implementation support. The objectives of the engagement range from designing the optimal organization and defining the necessary organizational parameters (i.e., KPI’s, incentives, core processes) to the development of a migration plan.
