Ken Bloomquist - Crash Course Director

Crash Course XIII on March 13

The 13th annual Crash Course Safety Seminar will be held this year on Thursday evening, March 13, at the auditorium of the Marshall Simonds Middle School in Burlington. Note that the location has been changed from the Northeastern University suburban campus as initially planned. Click on Crash Course XIII for details.

The topic this year will be take off and landing accidents. Take-offs and landings account for over 60% of all general aviation mishaps. Lead Speaker Bruce Landsberg, Executive Director of the Air Safety Foundation, will draw from the ASF's new interactive video "Ups and Downs" in discussing the various factors in keeping all of your departures and arrivals safe and uneventful. The "Ups and Downs" video is reported to be not only informative, but very entertaining as well.

In keeping with the "Learning from the Mistakes of Others" theme of Crash Course, our own Paul Diette will present the circumstances of some recent New England take-off and landing accidents.

Mark the Crash course event on your calendar and plan to bring a friend.  The auditorium seats 500 and there is ample parking this year. The Marshall Simonds School is at 114 Winn Street, about one-quarter mile North of Route 128 at exit 34.
