ACONE Scholarship Applications for 2003 are due now!

We of the Aero Club of New England are pleased that we can offer this expanded scholarship program. It provides a wonderful way for the Club and for donors to assist deserving young people and to forge lasting relationships that can provide inspiration and support. Thanks to all that have worked to make this important part of ACONE a success.

Each year five hundred application packets go to the three New England Colleges with aviation programs (Daniel Webster, Bridgewater, and North Shore), to all the approved New England Flight Schools, and to individuals who request them. Each candidate seems qualified and deserving. The difficulty comes in deciding who will not receive a scholarship. We could easily award more scholarships and you can establish a scholarship. You decide the amount you wish to donate and set the qualifications together with the Education Committee.  You can also endow a scholarship, now or by remembering the Aero Club Scholarship Fund in your will. If you wish to establish a scholarship, please contact the Education Committee by emailing me at
krcurrie@bu.edu

In accordance with the objectives set forth in its Constitution, the Aero Club of New England has established a scholarship program to encourage and to help support careers in aviation. This year fourteen scholarships will be awarded — nine for pilot training, one for engineering at Daniel Webster College, one for aeronautics and astronautics at MIT, two for aircraft maintenance and one as a special leadership award presented at specific F.A.A. Ace camps.

Member donations and the Annual Scholarship Auction are the primary sources of revenues for these scholarships. Some members have chosen to fund a scholarship for someone they would like to honor. All scholarships are awarded annually and recipients are selected on the basis of merit and need.

Further information regarding establishing scholarships or applying for one may be obtained by contacting me by email or forward to someone who know of a worth candidate by utiilizing the "Tell a Friend option of our E-Newsletter".  Applications are due by March 30, 2003.  Click on 2003 Scholarship Application sidebar to print application.

Chairman of the Education Committee.
