President's Message
September is always a very busy time for all of us with kids back to school, schedules on hyper drive, and all of us pushing hard to maximize our third quarter results. It’s a great time of year and made even more exciting by what we at ACGBoston have been planning over the summer. As a result of the activity among the various ACGBoston committee members who have been working very hard over the past few months, I believe that we are going to provide you with exactly what you need in order to connect with others in the ACGBoston community, learn more about what’s going on in New England business today and maximize your deal flow. Our website at www.acgboston.org fully outlines these events, but just to give you an overview….
- September kicks off with our ever popular and always sold out Dealmaker’s Breakfast on September 18th at The Meridian with Michael Murray, the Managing Director of Deutsche Bank.
Make sure that you jot down in your calendars that we are moving our future Dealmaker’s Breakfasts to The Boston Harbor Hotel beginning in October.
- Also on September 18th, just to make sure that we include the 128 and 495 crowd, we will host one of our two annual Networking Events from 6:00-8:00 PM at The Newton Marriott with a reception of drinks, hors d”oeuvres and plenty of connections with members and guests from the ACG community.
- November 3rd opens our annual Fall Technology M&A Conference, “Playing By Darwin’s Rules”, at the Burlington Marriott. We expect 500 people to attend two working panel sessions with top quality speakers, a keynote address from Dick Syron, Chairman of Thermo Electron, and a “Capital For Technology” session consisting of over 20 sources of capital for later stage, middle market technology businesses. All of this will be followed by one of our killer ACG receptions. Take a look at the ACGBoston website for more details.
- And finally, we are in the planning stages for our January 22nd Economic Outlook Conference and our Spring M&A Conference on June 3rd. Anyone who wants to be involved, or if there are key speakers who you would like to hear, just send us an email.
A busy time of year for all of us on the board and in the committees here at ACGBoston. I and Leslie look forward to seeing you on September 18th and making sure that you are involved in what has become one of the most robust business communities in New England.
Thanks for your continuing support and involvement. Send me an email with any questions or your ideas.
