Prior to joining Downer & Company, Mr. Jeanloz was an analyst with Mirus, a middle-market boutique investment bank, gaining significant transaction experience with venture-backed technology companies and niche manufacturers in the analytical instrumentation, home improvement product, and specialty food industries.


C. Allen Merritt and Lindsay Cook have joined as partners at Boston International Capital Partners LLC, a strategic consulting firm focusing primarily on insurance, investment management and related industries. Most recently, Merritt was executive vice president and chief operating officer and Cook was executive vice president at Liberty Financial Companies, Inc., a NYSE-listed insurance and investment management organization.

Sovereign Bank names William E. Andrzeicik, Vice President, Senior Corporate Banker within Sovereign Bank's newly-formed Corporate Banking Development Group.

The Nassau Group announces several new hires: Peter M. McGowan, Managing Director -- Technology (Electronics and Semiconductor), prior Managing Director in Technology Group at Alex. Brown and Lehman Brothers; Jeffrey S. Rubin, Managing Director -- Technology (IT and Telecommunications), prior Managing Member of Windsor Group Securities; Thomas L. Piper III, Senior Advisor, prior Managing Director and Head of Equity Capital Markets at Dillon, Read & Co.; Albert S. Han, Vice President, and prior Principal with Windsor Group Securities; Alan J. Canzano, Senior Associate, prior Associate with Goldman, Sachs Merger and Strategic Advisory Group.

Alan Hollander, Managing Partner of Equation Partners, advised Teradyne, Inc. (NYSE:TER) on the divestiture of the assets of its subsidiary, Perception Laminates, Inc., including its manufacturing facility in California which fabricated laminates for printed circuit boards.

Windjammer Capital led a $36 million subordinated debt investment and provided a $5 million equity co-investment in support of an acquisition made by the portfolio company of an equity sponsor.

Bingham McCutchen LLP, an 800-attorney firm with offices from Boston, New York, Washington, and London to Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Silicon Valley, has merged with Riordan & McKinzie, a 60-lawyer corporate and private-equity boutique based in Los Angeles. The merger was effective July 1.

Den White, a newly transplanted partner at the Boston office of McDermott Will & Emery and Chairman of the Boston Chapter of ACG, recently represented Bionostics, Inc., a Devens, Mass., manufacturer of quality-control materials for the medical diagnostics market, to Ferraris Group plc, a UK public company.

Fleet M&A Advisors, a division of Fleet Securities, Inc., served as exclusive financial advisor to GTECH Corp., the leading manufacturer, operator and supplier of online lottery systems to domestic and international lottery authorities, in its acquisition of PolCard, S.A., a leading provider of debt and credit processing services based in Poland.

Fleet M&A Advisors, a division of Fleet Securities, Inc., was retained by Barnes & Noble to determine the fair value of intangible assets of Sterling Publishing. Barnes & Noble acquired Sterling for approximately $115 million in January, and the valuation was required in connection with FASB No. 141- Accounting for Business Combinations (See "Life After Pooling", ACG Hub News, April 2003). Sterling is one of the top 25 publishers in America and the industry's leading publisher of how-to books.
