Still Growing Strong
by Brien P. Tilley
Clearly, 2004 was a challenging year for some insurance and reinsurance companies. Some firms left the market entirely, and the competitiveness of some companies’ portfolios suffered under market demands. Nevertheless, ABS is in a position to have a record-setting year in 2005! Our portfolio has matured significantly over the past several years and we have allied ourselves with such a diverse group of strong companies that the stability of our business is assured even if a given carrier suffers.
To our already strong array of carriers, we have added First Colony/GE Capital Assurance, Chase Brokerage and Mortgage Series, Empire General, Prudential and F&G. Each of our new companies offer products that are rated in the industry’s top 1% in terms of product features and pricing in their respective niches. First Colony and GE are industry leaders in low cost term rates and feature excellent big case underwriting; Chase Brokerage offers top ten term rates as well as a highly competitive UL product and the ability to utilize the industry’s premier Tele-Application; Chase Mortgage offers up to $250,000 non-med term with DI and ROP riders; Empire General is an industry leader in smoker rates, low-cost Universal Life and features aggressive impaired risk underwriting; and F&G continues to offer the most competitive ROP rates in the industry. With the addition of Prudential to our portfolio of big case carriers, we are better equipped than ever to handle cases with premiums of $10,000 or more.
In order to make this a tremendous year, it is important that we communicate with you clearly and often. Along with our updated portfolio that now features nearly thirty companies, we are offering a more advanced infrastructure to help you to manage your business more efficiently. We have completely revised and reorganized our case management department to improve efficiency, and we will continue to use “The Cutting Edge” to inform you of new product releases, changes to existing products and significant industry trends, and to provide you with relevant articles and essential sales tools.
Overall, I’m excited about all of the new possibilities that we’ve created for expanding our business, and I look forward to working with each of you in the coming year.
