Land Rover Celebrates 25 Years in America
A historic celebration for a historic brand.

Land Rover is honoring the 25th anniversary of its arrival in the United States. To celebrate the occasion, some of the most historic Land Rover models were unleashed at the New York Auto Show on a special off-road course.

In conjunction with the New York Auto Show, Land Rover offered consumers the opportunity to take part in an off-road adventure on a custom-made course in the heart of New York City’s meatpacking district. Some of the brand’s historical models were also on display, including the 1987 Range Rover, the 1993 Land Rover 110, a 1994 Camel Trophy Discovery and a 1995 Range Rover Classic. New York was the ideal location for the celebration, as the city is the largest metro market for the Land Rover brand.

The Range Rover – Land Rover’s flagship model – was introduced to the United States in 1987. Since the brand’s American debut, Land Rover has been a true success story, offering customers capable, luxurious products. The original Range Rover defined a new market segment for luxury sport utility vehicles. It is unmatched in capability and heritage, and maintains a favored status among influential personalities including world leaders, entertainers, athletes and more.

Over the past 25 years, the Land Rover Range Rover has achieved an enviable position in the automotive market, and it continues to be the primary choice of buyers looking for a luxury vehicle for its performance as well as its prestige. Since 1987, more than 575,000 Land Rover vehicles have been sold in North America.

Most recently, Land Rover has introduced the new 2012 Range Rover Evoque, the brand’s most fuel-efficient SUV. Winning more than 95 international awards, including 2012 “North American Truck of the Year” and 2012 Motor Trend “SUV of the Year,” the trend-setting Evoque is in extreme high demand.

"The outlook for the company in this its 25th anniversary year is strong and confident," stated Andy Goss, president of Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC. "Our current product line-up is the strongest we've ever had and the U.S. consumer strongly embraces our brand. The deeply ingrained corporate values and dedication to the brand that were instilled by the original management team 25 years ago [have] served Land Rover well. Today, there's a renewed focus, enthusiasm and energy within the company.”

Today, the Land Rover lineup includes the LR2, the LR4, the Range Rover Sport, the Range Rover and the Range Rover Evoque. As one of the first brands to introduce luxury to utility, Land Rover is continually raising the bar, and this year’s 25th anniversary celebration honors that achievement.
